Term
Off-page SEO
Meaning
Off-page SEO is the activity and signals outside your own website that relate to its reputation, mainly links and mentions from other sites. The healthy version is earning them by publishing something worth citing, such as a clear guide or original data. The unhealthy version is buying links or running link schemes, which Google's spam policies describe as link spam and which can harm a site. Be wary of anyone promising a guaranteed ranking from link building. See also: Backlink, On-page SEO, and the guide SEO Full Form: What Search Engine Optimisation Means.
